I tend to perform random acts of kindness, and 99% of them are anonymous. I do things like pay for the coffee for the person behind me in line at Starbucks and then I drive off before the barista tells them. That’s my fave
I Twittered a couple weeks ago that I was heading to Staples and asked my followers if anyone needed anything. www.frugalTheme.com creator, @EricHamm, said he needed gels pens since his dog ate his. As the owner of 3 little dogs, I know how much damage they can do [my youngest dog ate the nunchuk to my new Wii!
]
So I bought gel pens and mailed them to him.
I love taking people by surprise and the lift I get from doing it is amazing. I love to put a bit of randomness into people’s lives to take them out of their routines. I think that performing a random act of kindness is one way to establish a connection with another human being – a way to reconnect with our own humanity and compassion for the benefit of others.
What can YOU do today to perform a random act of kindness? Can you do something random and uplifting for a client, prospect or Twitter follower? Go ahead and try it – it feels AMAZING
